ACROSS PUBLIC ROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY and
DEBRIS/BURNING ON PUBLIC ROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY
Please be aware that PUSHING SNOW OR OTHER MATERIALS or DEBRIS ONTO or ACROSS ANY ROAD is in violation of State law and Town ordinances. Performing these activities can lead to accidents resulting in property damage, bodily injury and even death. This activity is prohibited by Wis. Stats. 86.01, 86.07(2), 346.94(5), and 941.01 and Town of Taycheedah Code of Ordinances Sections 6-3-5 and 11-3-2(d).
Also, please be aware that the Town Code of Ordinances, Section 6-1-3 and Section 6-3-5, prohibit the deposit and/or burning of rubbish on highway rights-of-way. This includes glass, stones, weeds, brush, leaves, machinery, garbage or other waste.
The State Patrol, the County Sheriff’s Department and the Town Constable will be working with the County and Town Highway Departments to enforce this law.

WINTER ROAD SALTING POLICY
Please be advised that due to limited supplies of road salt during the past two seasons, in addition to substantial increases in the cost of road salt, the Town Highway Dept. plans to salt only intersections, hills and curves on a regular basis.
Please drive according to the conditions of the roadway.

STRUCTURES WITHIN PUBLIC ROAD RIGHTS-OF-WAY
Structures, such as, landscaping accessories, lighting, retaining walls, decorative pillars, stone/brick mailboxes, fences and vegetation are prohibited in the right-of-way.
Enforcement measures will be taken by the entity having jurisdiction.

MAILBOXES
Creative mailbox beautification has become increasingly popular. However, some creative mailboxes; especially brick/stone structures are a danger to public safety and are prohibited by State, County and Town regulations. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation recommends mailboxes be mounted on a wood post, no larger than 4x4 or 4” round; a steel post, no larger than 1.5” in diameter; or steel channel, no stronger than 2# per foot.
Enforcement measures will be taken by the entity having jurisdiction.

TWO-SIDED FIRE NUMBER SIGNS
The Town is nearing completion of the multi-year project of posting two-sided fire number signs at each address of record. The two-sided signs assist emergency response services in locating a specific address as quickly as possible during a time of need.
If your sign becomes bent; please straighten it. If it becomes damaged and needs to be replaced, please call Mike Sabel at (920) 921-5231.

OFF-STREET PARKING PROHIBITED
Off-street parking is prohibited during the winter months. Off-street parking creates safety issues for the traveling public and hinders snow removal work.
The Town wishes to further remind residents that extended off-street parking along streets or within the right-of-way is prohibited year-round.
Enforcement measures will be taken by the entity having jurisdiction.

DOG FECES on PRIVATE PROPERTY
Several complaints have been received regarding the failure of dog owners to remove solid fecal matter from private and public property. Town of Taycheedah Code of Ordinances, Section 7-1-6, requires the owner to remove feces; with the exception of a person who is visually or physically handicapped. The Town asks that pet owners be courteous of their neighbors.
Enforcement measures will be taken by the Town Constable.
