Work to begin on Winnebago Drive project

Work will begin on Winnebago Drive (old Highway 151) in Fond du Lac County on Monday, Jan. 4.

The approximately $6.5 million project begins at Luco Road and extends 2.4 miles to Sandy Beach Road, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region Office in Green Bay said in a news release.

The road will be closed to through traffic while the project is under way. Local access is being maintained.

Plans call for reconstructing the road, including upgrades to the storm sewer and sidewalk.

The detour will be from Highway 45 to Highway 23 to Highway 151.

The project is expected to be finished in October.
