The Annual Meeting of the Electors of the Town of Taycheedah was held on Tuesday, April 11th, 2006, at 7:30 p.m., at the Taycheedah Town Hall. Town Board members present were Chairman Jerry Guelig, Supervisors Tim Simon, Mike Wirtz, John Abler and Jim Bertram, Clerk Brenda Schneider and Deputy Treasurer Virginia Schneider. Assessor Bill Huck was absent. Approximately 25 residents were in attendance.
The Town Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:37 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Copies of the minutes of the 2005 Annual Meeting were dispersed and reviewed. Ed Braun motioned to accept the minutes of the 2005 Annual Meeting, seconded by Dan Freund. Motion carried by voice vote.

It was suggested the Board investigate replacing one of the snowplow trucks before the new emissions regulations take affect in 2007.
Taycheedah Sanitary District No. 1 did not submit financial information to be included in the Annual Report. Barb Bertram motioned to submit a letter to the District requesting the financial information as required by statutes, seconded by Marlys Welsch. Motion carried by voice vote.
The surface water drainage along Golf Course Drive was discussed. The Board intends to replace the driveway culverts, clean the ditches and increase the width of the shoulder this year.
The Town Board has contracted with Bowmar to perform a complete walk-thru reassessment. The appraiser has been going door-to-door for the past several months. Bowmar will contact the property owners that were unavailable.
The City of Fond du Lac has contracted with a consultant to compile an aquifer study. It is expected that the study will determine which type of project the Council will pursue.
The Board heard complaints regarding the use of the tractor/plow on chisel-plowed fields, last year’s ditch mowing, the speed limit on Golf Course Drive, the Clerk working for two sanitary districts and the expense of the Clerk’s Office Assistant. Lynn Birschbach seconded the motion. Dan Freund withdrew his motion after being informed that the Town Chairman does not have the authority to appoint sanitary district staff.
The Peebles Trail along Cty. WH will be paved as soon as the asphalt plant opens for the season. The use of motorized vehicles and the riding of horses are prohibited on the Trail.
Several Explorer Scouts will be making improvements to Kiekhaefer Park. They will build a shelter near the sledding hill, erect more signage and clean the trails. The Scouts will be working in the Park over the next several months.
