MINUTES

The Town of Taycheedah Comprehensive Planning Committee met on Thursday, February 21st, 2008, at 6:30 p.m., at the Taycheedah Town Hall. Members present were: Ed Braun, Jerry Guelig, Tim Krawczyk, Neal Nett, Rebecca Ries, Brenda Schneider, Joanne Thome, Joe Thome and Mike Wirtz. Also present were Jeff Sanders, OMNNI & Associates and eight residents.

1. Call to order. Chairman Ed Braun called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m.

2. Approval of minutes. Mike Wirtz motioned to approve the minutes of the January 31st meeting, seconded by Rebecca Ries. Motion carried (9-0).

3. Review Draft Chapters:

Committee consensus was to locate the citizen survey results as an appendix.

Chapter 8.0 Economic Development.
Revisions, Corrections or Clarifications requested:
Pg. 8-11 *NEW Economic Opportunity Study is synonymous with NEW North. NEW North will be referenced in the section.
Pg. 8-18 *Residential Development as Economic Development. The Committee heard extensive discussion in support and in opposition to the text of this section. Neal Nett and Rebecca Ries volunteered to draft an alternate to this section. Joanne Thome moved to table the decision pertaining to the wording of the section in order to allow time for the compilation of an alternate section, Committee review and vote, seconded by Mike Wirtz. Motion carried (9-0).
Pg. 8-19 *CAFO will be added to the definition section.
Pg. 8-20 *Factory Farms can not be removed from the graphic.

Chapter 9.0 Existing Land Use (time permitting).
The Chapter will be reviewed during the next meeting.

4. Comments/Report from Consultant.
The Composite Attitude Map and the Majority Opinion Map were reviewed. Both maps are the result of the Mid-Course Mapping Meeting that was held January 31st.

5. Public Comment. None was received.

Next meetings will be held on Thursday, March 20th, at 6:30 p.m.

6. Adjournment. Mike Wirtz motioned to adjourn at 8:49 p.m., seconded by Jerry Guelig. Motion carried (9-0).
