2) Discuss 2008 projects:
a) St. Peter park donation. The Town has been contacted by a realtor who is working with an out-of-state resident. The resident is interested in purchasing a lot in St. Peter that he would donate to the Town for a park. He will also donate $15,000 for the purchase of playground equipment. It will be the Town’s responsibility to plan for the development of the park. The Committee will be asked for a recommendation.
b) Park maintenance and projects.
i) Observation platform. The Committee reviewed a design for a 12x12 deck. The Committee discussed bidding-out the structural portion of the project and possible sources for financial and labor donations. The Committee will evaluate possible locations for the deck.
ii) Sledding Hill lights. Gary Morgen and Bud Sabel are expected to orchestrate this project over the summer.
iii) Prairie management. The Committee will schedule a burn this spring.
iv) Ski trails. Additional work is planned.
v) Park sign. The sign has been completed. Installation will take place this spring.
vi) Split rail fence. A split rail fence will be installed along portions of the parking lot.
vii) Other possible projects. A local citizen appears driven to secure funding for ski trail grooming equipment.
3) Review and recommend amendments to the Town of Taycheedah Outdoor Recreation and Open Space Plan. The Committee began a review of the Plan.
4) Public Comment. None given.
5) Schedule next meeting and work days. The Committee’s next meeting will take place on Monday, April 7th, 2008, at 6:30 p.m... A work day was scheduled for Saturday, April 26th.
