The Town of Taycheedah Comprehensive Planning Committee met on Thursday, September 18th, 2008, at 7:00 p.m., at the Taycheedah Town Hall, for the purpose of conducting an Intergovernmental Cooperation Meeting. Members present were: Ed Braun, Jerry Guelig, Tim Krawczyk, Neal Nett, Rebecca Ries, Brenda Schneider, Joanne Thome, and Mike Wirtz. Joe Thome was absent. Also in attendance were Jeff Sanders & Bob Stadel, OMNNI & Associates and four residents.
Committee Chairperson Ed Braun welcomed those in attendance. The Committee members, consultants and attendees introduced themselves.
Jeff Sanders, OMNNI & Associates, summarized the planning process and explained the Future Land Use Map.
Bob Stadel, OMNNI & Associated discussed intergovernmental cooperation.
Bruce Peterson, Town of Calumet Chairman, commented on the Town’s potential for more development between Hwy. 151 and Lake Winnebago. He noted that he does not expect the Town of Taycheedah to grow into the Town of Calumet.
Sue Schnorr, representing the Fond du Lac School District, commented that Taycheedah is the second highest tax revenue contributor to the District and the second highest in student count. She further commented that Taycheedah has historically voted down their referendums. The District believes it would be to their benefit to build a relationship with the Town.
Bob Stadel suggested conducting annual intergovernmental meetings with the same players in attendance.
Chairman Braun thanked the consultants and the interested parties for attending the meeting.
Mike Wirtz moved to adjourn at 8:57 pm, seconded by Neal Nett. Motion carried (8-0-1 absent).
