MINUTES

The Johnsburg Sanitary District Commission met on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009, at 9:00 a.m., at the Taycheedah Town Hall, for the purpose of conducting their January monthly meeting. Members present were President Franz Schmitz, Commissioners Dennis Lefeber and Ken Schneider and Recording Secretary Brenda Schneider.
1. Call to order. President Schmitz called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m.
2. Approval of meeting minutes. The Commission reviewed the minutes of the 12/10/08 monthly meeting and the 12/10/08 joint sanitary district meeting. Hearing no objections, the President declared the minutes approved as presented.
3. Discuss operational issues. Ken Schneider is still awaiting information regarding the air treatment process.
The Commission discussed installing a siphon-break at the meter station in an attempt to control odors.
4. Discuss lateral extension at the Johnsburg Athletic Club property and the Agri-Land Coop. Dennis Lefeber verified that the sewer lateral into the Athletic Club building is capped. Brenda Schneider reported that Agri-Land has applied for a permit. However, it is yet to be issued due to the fact that the Clerk’s copy machine has been out of order for a month. The permit will be issued as soon as a working copier is available.
5. Status of the Operations & Maintenance Agreement with Taycheedah Sanitary District No. 1. The draft Agreement has been submitted to TSD#1. Johnsburg Commission is currently awaiting a response.
6. Approval of District bills. Dennis Lefeber motioned to approve the bills totaling $2426.70 (order nos. 1-8), noting postponement to February of the payment to Rural Mutual Ins. for the Business Owner’s Policy, and to authorize the following:
• Transfer $2,800.00 from the User Charge Account to the regular checking account for operational expenses,
• Transfer $7,358.13 from the Debt Service Account to the User Charge Account to reconcile 2008 transfers,
• Transfer $604.47 from the Reserve for Replacement to the User Charge Account to reconcile 2008 transfers, and
• Transfer $781.00 from the User Charge Account to the Debt Reserve Account.
The motion was seconded by Ken Schneider. Motion carried (3-0).
7. Schedule the next meeting. The next Commission meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, February 3rd, at 9:00 am.
8. Commissioners’ reports and comments.
