MINUTES

The Johnsburg Sanitary District Commission met on Tuesday, May 11th, 2010, for the purpose of conducting their May monthly meeting. Members present were President Franz Schmitz and Commissioners Ken Schneider and Dennis Lefeber and Recording Secretary Brenda Schneider.
1. Call to order. President Schmitz called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m.
2. Approval of minutes. After review by the Commission, President Schmitz declared the minutes of the April 20 and April 22, 2010 meetings approved as distributed.
3. Discuss operational issues. Brian Schmitz expects to complete an inspection of every manhole in 3-4 weeks.
4. Meyer Court sewer extension.
a. District inspection services. Foth reviewed and commented on the extension plans more than two years ago. Foth has not submitted a bill to the District for this service. Foth expects to provide inspection services. It is unknown what Foth charges for such service. Foth will be asked for a quote. J.E. Arthur & Associates is also being considered for inspection services.
b. Standby special assessment. The District has not compiled an assessment for costs attributable to lots connecting to a sewer not constructed by the District. The Commission will seek a legal opinion as to how to proceed.
5. Approval of District bills. Ken Schneider motioned to approve the bills totaling $539.60 (order nos. 32-38), and to authorize the following:
• Transfer $525.00 from the User Charge Account to the regular checking account for operational expenses.
The motion was seconded by Dennis Lefeber. Motion carried (3-0).
6. Schedule the next meeting. The next Commission meeting will be held of June 1st.
7. Commissioners’ reports and comments. None given.
8. Adjournment. President Schmitz declared the meeting adjourned at 11:07 a.m.
