MINUTES
The Johnsburg Sanitary District Commission met on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011, for the purpose of conducting their January monthly meeting. Members present were President Franz Schmitz and Commissioners Ken Schneider and Dennis Lefeber and Recording Secretary Brenda Schneider.
1. Call to order. President Schmitz called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m.
2. Approval of minutes of the 12/7/10 and 12/16/10 meetings. Hearing no objection, President Schmitz declared the minutes approved as presented.
3. Discuss operational issues. All aspects of the system are operating well at this time.
4. Review home inspection forms. The forms were adapted from the City of Fond du Lac’s forms. Andy Karls completed 25 inspections during December, 2010. He issued remediation orders on 10 structures. The owners were given 30 days to make the requested modifications.
The Commission discussed the reasoning behind the requirement of installing a sump pump if a pit exists.
5. Approval of District bills. Dennis Lefeber motioned to approve the bills totaling $5,183.24 (order nos. 1-13), and to authorize the following transfers:
• $5,400.00 from the User Charge Account to the Regular Checking Account.
The motion was seconded by Ken Schneider. Motion carried (3-0).
6. Schedule the next meeting. The next regular monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, February 1st. A Joint Sanitary District meeting will be held on January 27th, 2011.
7. Commissioners’ reports and comments. A letter was sent to Schenck Business Solutions requesting information needed by Village Accounting. Also, the Commission will address the continued billing by Schenck for unauthorized work. The billing was formally rejected by the Commission several months ago.
The Commission commends Andy Karls for his thorough home inspection work.
8. Adjournment. President Schmitz declared the meeting adjourned at 11:12 a.m.
