The Park & Rec. Advisory Council met on Monday, October 29, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., at the Town Hall. Present were Chairperson Earl Jewett, Bob Roehrig, John Abler, Jim Bertram and Brenda Schneider.
1) Call to order. Chairman Earl Jewett called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
2) Discuss 2012 projects.
The Committee discussed re-routing the west trail that leads to Beer Can Mountain in order to diminish erosion of the current trail.
Both volunteer work days were washed out. It is unknown if any days will be scheduled yet this year.
3) Budget Review.
The 2012 revenue/expenditure report for the park system was reviewed. Committee took action to purchase six benches before the end of the year; two in the Scenic Overlook and four in Kiekhaefer Park. Chair Jewett will research quotes to reconstruct the kiosk and the new maps.
The Capital Improvement Plan for the park system was reviewed and amended. The 2013 Proposed Budget for the park system is based upon the CIP.
Committee voiced support of a launch fee to help offset expenses. Committee also discussed establishing a user fee for the Park. Administration and enforcement of user fees would be challenging.
4) Next Meeting. The Town Budget Hearing is November 29th, at 7:00.
5) Public Comment. None presented.
6) Adjournment. Chair Jewett declared the meeting adjourned at 8:12 pm.
